Should you pay for Anti-Virus

I use AVG Free and it’s what i install when I work on other peoples PC’s. What most home users need to check on is that most of the ISP providers offer free licensed security suites for home setups. For instance, I’m located in Oklahoma City and Cox Cable offers Mcafee Security Suite license for 3 PC’s for free to their internet customers.

So what I do when i’m working on someones PC is install AVG free then tell folks to contact Cox Cable or AT&T and request the free anti-virus suite. I do the AVG Free install just in case the person get’s lazy and never checks with the ISP provider to get the free software and don’t forget to disable the defender or any other anti-virus program before installing the security suite. They will conflict with each other thinking that the other is a virus or mal-ware.

is paying for antivirus a waste of money

Clean install of Windows 10

Not a bad article, but if I was you I would get the bios key and go ahead and download a copy of windows even if you’re not planning on upgrading to windows 10, It’s just a way to get ahead of the dead hard drive problem most people run into. Did i also mention you need to have an external hard drive to store documents and pictures on, it would make the perfect place to store your windows 8 or 10 iso file with the key that you pulled from the bios.
