This app is used to backup the data files and programs and a system image. data backup are used to just restore data files and programs. system images are used to restore a blank or formatted hard drive to a current working condition. You just need to boot from a bootable media source such as the install disk or bootable USB.
I’ve been telling folks for years buy yourself an external hard drive for an Christmas present and just copy any files you don’t want to lose to the drive. Then next Christmas buy yourself a new external hard drive and copy the files on the old one to the new drive and start using that drive for the rest of the year. You can either put the old drive on the shelf or put it in a safe deposit box if the items on that drive are priceless. I advise people to keep getting that external hard drive for Christmas till you have 3 of them then you can take a year or two off, but no longer then 3 years before you start the whole process over again. why do this, you do this because when was the last time you used a photo or video camera that used film.

And please do yourself a favor and purchase a external hard drive at least one a year till you have two to three of them. Why would you want to do that, well when a hard drive dies your data dies with it having some of that data on multiple drives can really save your butt in a pinch.
